On Ear Headphones Limited Edition - Blue

San Francisco - SOL Republic launched two product guarantees for its line of headphones.
The company's modular headphones feature speakers, headbands and cables that can be interchanged. Now SOL said that its Sound Track headbands, which are made of FlexTech, will last at least 1,000 days from the date of purchase, or consumers will receive a free replacement headband.
Consumers must first register their headphones at SOLRepublic.com.
The company is also offering what it called Ear Tips for Life.
"Anyone who purchases SOL Republic Amps ($59.99) or Amps HD ($99.99) in-ear headphones gets a lifetime of free ear tip replacements," it said. They also must be registered on the website.
When writing about and reviewing earphones, I always include two points that are important to each model: the seal from the eartips and whether the earphone uses a warmer sounding dynamic or the more accurate, but bass deficient armature based speaker. Scosche is a maker of a seemingly endless array of affordable iPhone/iPod accessories with headphones and earphones among their more popular products. They have now released a new high-end line of audio gear under the Realm name, and one of the first products is the IEM856m in-ear monitor. There are a couple of things that make the IEM856m unique and we will discuss those in this review.
As I said, Scosche is going upmarket with the Realm line and so, let’s look at whether they succeeded. The design of the IEM856m (couldn’t they come up with a better name?) certainly looks good. They come in black (IEM856md) or bright Apple white (IEM856m) with subtle chrome accents.  Both have a good selection of silicone eartips to choose from. Also included is a very sturdy zippered case with a net pocket for holding tips, supplied carabiner and shirt clip.

Dr.Dre Studio Limited Edition Headphones

At first glance, it looks like Scosche is gunning for the Monster Earphone crowd with its design, but I think they look a bit more toned down than Monster’s more aggressive look. One definite similarity the IEM856m has with some Monster earphones is a tangle-free flat cable design that really works. I have never been all that bothered having to untangle cables, but I know it drives others crazy, so these flat cables could be a deciding factor in choosing Scosche over other brands.
The IEM856m also includes what Scosche calls the TapLine III remote control and microphone system. It allows you to play/pause, skip tracks, adjust volume and answer calls. This setup is becoming the norm as smart headphones become a prime source for personal music.
Beyond these specs, the main attraction of the Scosche IEM856m is a fairly unique speaker combination. Scosche could have decided to use the highly accurate armature speaker or the less clinical, bass heavy dynamic speaker. But they figured why not use both and hopefully, benefit from the strengths of both approaches? After all, it makes sense on paper: Combine the highs of armature with the powerful bottom end of dynamic to achieve a perfect balance. But, will this approach work in the real world?
Let’s first deal with the negatives. The IEM856ms are kinda big. While armatures are extremely small, dynamics aren’t and adding another speaker – no matter how small – only increases the bulk. And these do look and feel bigger than most other earphones. However, Scosche has managed to keep them very light and, despite their size, quite comfortable. That had to have been a primary goal, because this combo-speaker setup just begs for compromises and Scosche seems to have wisely avoided them.

Dr.Dre

I listened to many kinds of music ripped or downloaded in various levels of quality.
I noticed that while this combo does manage to capitalize on each speaker design’s strengths – when pushed, the disadvantages of each speaker design sometimes becomes apparent. For instance, on some (not all) R.E.M. songs, their trademark, jangly guitar sound could border on brittle in the higher frequencies. I wouldn’t say it’s irritating, but it is noticeable. I’m half-certain that it’s the recording and not the earphones, because it was rare when I heard it. Most of the time, the balance between the armature and dynamic speakers was spot-on. Their scatological song, “It’s the End Of the World As We Know It,” has an obscure bottom end when the group sings “… And I Feel Fine. With better earphones, you can feel the drum kick and on the IEM856m, I can feel it.
Sigur Ros is a group I have only recently discovered after becoming a fan of Jónsi and Alex. Their avant garde album, (), is a mixture of lead singer Jónsi Birgisson’s falsetto vocals combined with various electronic noises and instruments, making it a perfect test for the IEM856ms. You really have to like this kind of music or you will run from the room screaming. The song, Untitled #6 (E-Bow), is a good example of covering the frequency spectrum in a song without veering too far towards the low or high ends. With the IEM856ms headphone, I never got fatigued listening to this album.
“Actor Out Of Work” from the nom de guerre St. Vincent (Annie Clark) is an in-your-face, distortion-fest with vocals pushed so far up front that you can hear and almost feel every breath Clark takes as she sings into your head. Clark’s siren singing is both discomforting and inviting at the same time and the IEM856ms let you hear it all.

Beats By Dr. Dre Studio

But first, let's talk about Spotify. Jackson has invested mainly in physical products so far--vitamin drinks, fashion headphones. But he's looking to invest in tech startups. "I have some ideas now," he says. "I don't want to discuss the deal until the papers get signed because everyone else will get excited--and then we get scattered."
When pressed, Jackson flashes a knowing grin. I ask him whether he's investing in a small music-related startup. "Well, they're really well established companies that I'll end up being involved in," he says. Like Spotify? "Those are the kinds of guys I want to hang out with, down there in Silicon Valley," Jackson answers coyly. He says he knows Parker but declines to go into any more detail. But clearly he's impressed by streaming services like Spotify, which he says, "are the future of music--the experience with Napster gave them the insight--all the information [they needed]."
Jackson ticks off characteristics that he learned from finding new talent and producers in the music industry. It's not so different looking for successful entrepreneurs, he says. It boils down to four traits: quality of material, performance, appearance, and personality. It was those qualities that led him to Brian Nohe, founder of KonoAudio, which SMS Audio acquired in August to support its sound technology. "Ultimately the vision is not just a headphone company," says Nohe, now SMS's president. "I mean, 50 wants to create an audio company. You will see us move into laptops, speakers, and home entertainment."

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson Promotes New Headphones By Way Of Sean Parker
BY Austin CarrMon Dec 5, 2011
Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is in a mixing room in Lower Manhattan--but instead of hawking headphones like he's scheduled to do, the Jamaica, Queens-bred rapper is hinting about investing in Spotify and all sorts of other Silicon Valley startups. Looks like G-Unit's getting a VC division.
Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson should be hawking headphones. That's why he's sitting in a mixing booth at Engine Room Audio in Lower Manhattan at 9:40 a.m. Instead, though, the Jamaica, Queens-bred rapper is talking about his next Silicon Valley investments--and Sean Parker.
"I think Sean Parker damaged the music business with Napster," Jackson says. "Now he's trying to fix it."
In a charcoal gray suit with a wine-red handkerchief, Jackson looks more Gordon Gekko than chart-topping rock star. Then again, what's a modern rock star if not a branding machine. For 50's part, he's moved on from hit singles to hit investments. Jackson runs his own label under Interscope Records; he's built successful sneaker and clothing lines; he's starred in movies and video games; and he's injected capital in everything from 3-D glasses startups to energy drink companies. In 2007, an early investment in Vitamin Water-maker Glacéau proved prescient when Coca-Cola bought the company for $4.1 billion, an acquisition that earned 50 Cent a reported $100 million. Today, he's technically here to promote his next business venture, SMS Audio, makers of high-end headphones. "The category is huge," he says. "These headphones are definitely going to be the biggest stocking stuffer."

Along with getting sweaty and icky each workout, I have run with the iSports earbuds several times in the dumping rain (something you cannot avoid if you are a runner in Western Washington). They definitely got wet and continued to work just fine.  I have not washed my iSports to see if they live up to Monster’s claim of their rugged ability to survive immersion in water. I like them too much. Although, there may come a time, by accident or needing to be cleaned, when it may become a necessity. Thankfully, they should survive.
I have used the Monster iSport Immersion In-Ear Headphones a dozen times over the past month or so. They are definitely the best sounding and most durable sports/workout earbuds I have every used. Monster calls them ‘The Athelete’s Headphones‘ and I have to agree. That said, this great sound and rugged survivability comes at a (relatively) premium cost. The iSports’ MSRP is $180 but can be found on the Net for $150. I consider this price point to be in the moderately priced (middle-end) earbuds these days, akin to the Etymotic hf-5s. Considering the iSports sound quality and added toughness, worth the price for a set of headphones that can stand the pounding (& ickiness) of hard-core working out.

Purple Dr Dre Monster Beats Beats By Dr.Dre Studio On Ear Headph

The Klipsch S4A's are a great in-line control headphone (if your device works with the Klipsch Control app). For many, the S4A's will probably provide a more enjoyable listening experience than more accurate, but less energetic in-ear monitors that may be more expensive, but lack that distinctive "Klipsch sound."
They'll also lack the comfort of the S4A's, which I would say isn't rivaled by any other in-ear headphone I have ever used. They really are that comfortable. For $100, the S4A's are a difficult product to overlook in any serious search for a high-end Android headset, and are worthy of consideration even for those looking to spend a little more on their next pair of headphones.
Monster includes four sets of SportsClips and eartips to allow you to achieve the perfect fit for your ear shape and size. Due to the 90 degree turn my ear canal makes, this shape/style of earbud rarely works for me. So, I was surprised how well and how comfortably I was able to get the iSport to fit in my ears. Once in my ear, they stay seated very well even on a long run in the dumping rain. I grant you, occasionally they get bumped and need to be reset into my ear canal, but rarely.

Beats By Dr.Dre MLB Chicago White Sox logo

But judging from Market comments, Klipsch hasn't exactly been fastidious about making sure its app works on all Android phones properly. To purchase an S4A expecting this compatibility, and then to not receive it, would definitely be frustrating. As I said, it works for me on my BIONIC, but users of older or more obscure phones might have cause to be wary on this point.
The microphone on the S4A's works decently, though persons on the other end did comment about my seeming a bit "distant," not necessarily quiet, just a little more echo than usual.
Klipsch products have a reputation for their distinctive sound characteristics. Rather than being particularly flat or balanced, most Klipsch speakers are noted for having a particularly bright, resonating tone with deep and accurate bass. That's not to say the S4A's are inaccurate or lacking in fidelity, so much as they aren't what you'd call in-ear headphone"monitors." Klipsch definitely adds flourishes to your music that you would not otherwise hear, but those additions are usually quite enjoyable.
In particular, live tracks come alive on the S4A's, gaining brightness and depth that their recordings may not fully express on their own. Music with a lot of bass or complex low-frequency arrangements really shine on the S4A's, too, as you can really hear the bass notes underlying your favorite songs with clarity and deep, accurate resonance. If you want a good earbud for workout, dance, or any other headphone high-energy music, the S4A's are a truly superb choice.
For lower-key genres, the S4A's still sound great. While they may not have the fidelity or bring out all the subtle nuances of more expensive in-ear monitors, they add a character that makes for a unique and enjoyable listening experience you won't find anywhere else.

Beats By Dr.Dre MLB Milwaukee Brewers logo

I love wearing the Klipsch S4A's. They are, hands down, the most comfortable in-ear headphones I have ever worn. I've heard that Klipsch's "step up" from the S4 line, the X10's, are even more comfortable, but unfortunately there's no Android-friendly version of those available. Still, the S4A's are very, very easy-wearing. You'll barely notice them, aside from the fact that they're pumping rockin' tunes into your ears.
As far as design goes, Klipsch tries to make their earbuds pretty small and light, so they're definitely on the littler side. They're small, sleek, and somewhat unique, given Klipsch's ovular earbud tips.
These earbud tips actually have a patent, and Klipsch claims they're a big part of what makes their headphones so comfortable and easy to wear. You get 4 pairs with your S4A's, along with a clip for the in-line microphone, whose placement on the right earbud's cable puts it fairly close to your mouth without the clip anyway.
As you can see, the app lets you customize all sorts of things. You can determine the volume your phone is set to when the headset is plugged in, what % of the maximum volume to make the maximum while using the headphones, what actions each number of clicks on the function button will map to, as well as set your phone to auto-launch your preferred music app when you plug your S4A's in. This really is a great idea.

Spongebob Squarepants

In the ocean there is a town called Bikini Bottom. The residents of Bikini Bottom are all fish. But there is a certain fry cook named Spongebob Squarepants season dvd boxset  . Just getting a job at Bikini Bottom's most popular restaurant The Krusty Krab he lives a crazy life with his hard-headed neighbor and friend Patrick. His next door Neighbor Squidward is a sarcastic boring squid who can't standSpongebob and Patrick. In the Krusty Krab Spongebob 's Boss Eugene Krabs is one of the most money-greedy men alive. He's probably the most money-greedy man alive. So inSpongebob 's life life under the sea is always quirky and crazy.
Spongebob Squarepants dvd is one of those rare animated shows that can be enjoyed equally as much by both adults and children. The utterly ludicrous concept of a talking sponge (who works at a fast food joint called The Krusty Krab) named Spongebob (voiced by Tom Kenny) and his adventures with his starfish friend Patrick (Bill Fagerbakke) and his crotchety neighbor Squidward (Roger Bumpass) are easily dismissed as simply another kids cartoon. However, if you take the time to pay attention to the dialogue and situations used throughout the series, you'll definitely understand why the show has garnered a sizeable cult following made up of people from all ages. Though it's been the subject of some bizarre controversies over the years (James Dobson famously accused the show of having a pro-homsexual agenda and more recently the University Of Virginia conducted a study which apparently proves the show leads to attention span problems!), it's popularity doesn't seem to have waned even after more than ten years of broadcast history.
With that said, as with any great show, it's tough to keep the momentum going year after year after year and this seventh season (now thankfully presented in its entirety and not in multiple volumes as seasons past have been), which ran from 2009 through 2011, isn't on par with the earlier seasons. It's not that this more recent material isn't fun, because it is, but by this point in time storylines are beginning to get a little repetitive and as such, the series doesn't seem quite as fresh and original as it once did. Far too often we're once again stuck with plots in which Plankton tries to steal Mr. Krabs' secret Krabby Patty recipe or another one in which SpongeBob tries to get his driver's license. There are a few interesting stand outs here, the Spongebob's Last Stand story finds SpongeBob and Patrick reworking sixties style folk songs as protest fodder when it looks like things will be going awry for the jellyfish fields that they spend so much time in when a proposed highway is to be built over top of them. Another highlight includes the Tentacle-Vision episode, in which the writer's try something new by giving Squidward his own television show but a lot of this season's content does seem to be more on the repetitive and predictable side.

Southland Season

According to NBC Southland dvd takes a "raw and authentic look" at Los Angeles and the lives of the LAPD officers who police it. The show's seven-episode first season centers around the experiences and interactions of LAPD patrol officers and detectives and is less a police procedural than a character-driven drama. Among the characters are rookie Officer Ben Sherman and his training officer John Cooper; Detective Lydia Adams who must balance work with responsibility for her mother; Officer Chickie Brown who aspires to be the first woman on the elite SWAT Team; and Detective Sammy Bryant whose home life interferes with his working life.
We've seen some pretty boneheaded moves on television through the years: Kanye West, Nipplegate, Dan Rather hating on Steffi Graf, Tom Cruise on Oprah, Cop Rock, Ashley Simpson on Saturday Night Live, Roger Clemens on Capitol Hill, Sarah Palin with Katie Couric, Letterman hosting the Oscars, the Stanford band marching onto the field a little too soon (silly stupid tree!), My Mother the Car, the cancellation of The Brady Brides in 1981 ("It's a new life for two girls named Brady!")...
But nothing tops the giant blunder NBC made in late 2009, when the network opted to erase all scripted shows during the 10 p.m. timeslot in favor of running The Jay Leno Fiasco, a giant train wreck with a huge turd on top of it. We all know how that turned out, but lost in the media frenzy and late-night war of words was the biggest casualty of the experiment: Southland, the cop drama that NBC debuted in the Spring of 2009 one week after ER closed its doors. The two dramas have a lot in common (they even share a producer/director), and after a brief seven-episode run Southland season dvd boxset was picked up for a second season by NBC. The network began production on new episodes before--are you ready for this?--cancelling the show in the fall of 2010 before giving it any Season 2 air time, claiming it was too dark for its timeslot (which now would have been 9 p.m. thanks to stupid Jay Leno). The show was eventually picked up by TNT, which is currently airing the six episodes filmed for Season 2.

Kim Possible Season

Kim Possible dvd is a girl who can do anything: stop an avalanche or an evil supervillian. She goes to high school with her friend and sidekick Ron Stoppable (and his pet mole rat Rufus) by day; by night she tackles the baddies that threaten the world. She's helped by a genius computer nerd Wade and a network of grateful people that she's helped in the past who give her free rides all around the planet to where she's needed...Kim Possible season dvd boxset is an American animated television series about a teenage crime fighter who has the task of dealing with worldwide family and school issues every day. The show is action-oriented but also has a light-hearted atmosphere and often lampoons the conventions and clichés of the secret-agent and action genres. Kim Possible is an American animated television series about a teenage crime fighter who has the task of dealing with worldwide family and school issues every day. The show is action-oriented but also has a light-hearted atmosphere and often lampoons the conventions and clichés of the secret-agent and action genres.
With 65 episodes more or less in the can, Kim Possible is facing the same fate as every other Disney Channel original series to hit that syndication-friendly milestone -- cancellation. Just as they did with Even Stevens a couple years earlier (maybe Disney really, really likes Christy Carlson Romano), Disney's giving the show one last feature-length send-off.
If you're reading this, I'm guessing you know the drill: regular, average girl here to save the world, and I'm not quoting any more from the theme song. So the Drama pits Kim yet again against her standard issue arch-foe, the demented Dr. Drakken, and the Fiendishly Evil Scheme™ du jour is more convoluted and clever than Drakken's usual machinations. Even his superfueled sidekick Shego can't make sense of it, which means whatever it is that Drakken's planning might actually work. While Kim's struggling with rescuing a kidnapped Japanese toy mogul and scrapping with Shego in in a tropical nightclub, she's also trying to decide who to take to the prom. Berated for not hanging off the arm of some sort of sports hero, Kim doesn't seem particularly enthusiastic about tagging along to the dance with her klutzy compadre Ron Stoppable. As Ron tries to muster the nerve to shed the platonic pal label and actually start dating Kim, she quickly becomes smitten with Eric, the Tiger Beat cover-friendly new kid at school. So anyway -- Romance! Heartbreak! Armies of giant robots! Knockdown, drag-out fight sequences! It's pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a Kim Possible movie, and I mean that in the best way possible.

Justice League The Complete Season

Forces of evil chaos and destruction await. Not even protectors like Superman Batman Wonder Woman Green Lantern the Flash Hawkgirl or the Martian Manhunter may have a chance alone. But together as the Justice League season dvd boxset they are a metahuman force (and a hope) to be reckoned with.
Bruce Timm's contribution to the larger canon of DC Comics' superheroes has grown from the surprise hit Batman: The Animated Series into a fully-fledged universe that has taken these characters on some fascinating adventures. After Batman: The Animated Series, Timm's most significant creation has been Justice League and Justice League dvd : Unlimited--which are gathered here in this handsome set under the title Justice League - The Complete Series. Other "Timmverse" series and features are well worth watching, re-watching, and remembering (including Superman: The Animated Series, which I will be reviewing here shortly). But Justice League is one of the best superhero television series of all time. It has a very special charm, a sense of fun and adventure that borrows heavily from the established worlds of each of the "big seven" who make up the Justice League during its first two seasons - a set of characters that expands in unusual directions when the show morphed into Justice League: Unlimited in its third season. The original seven are: Superman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, the Green Lantern (Jon Stewart), the Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl, and Batman. The first six are the focus of the series, with Batman joining in occasionally, or appearing at key moments to provide important information and support. (In the series' own "origin story" of the League, Batman funds the Watchtower, their base that orbits the Earth.)
Justice League: Unlimited is characterized by rip-roaring adventure combined with an almost martial camaraderie. Visually, the animation incorporates more 3D modeling into the 2D style, and the blend is mostly successful. Fast-paced episodes embrace a litany of DC characters, events, and themes, effectively addressing a major swath of the DC canon in a more inclusive way than Justice League did. The first season was, I believe, intended to be the only season, as the final episode "Epilogue" seems to wrap up not only Justice League: Unlimited, but simultaneously Batman Beyond - while serving as a moving coda to Batman: The Animated Series.
Season Two of Justice League: Unlimited seems almost like an afterthought. While entirely enjoyable, it's not as carefully paced as the first; I haven't been able to confirm this, but based on the storytelling, it would appear that the producers had not intended there to be another season. "Epilogue" is such a strong episode and appropriate ending to the series that Season Two seems forced by its very nature, even though the individual episodes are as well-produced as those that went before them.

Go Diego Go Complete

Go Diego Go season dvd boxset Based on Nickelodeon's made-for-television movie Safari Rescue has preschoolers helping Diego and friends in seven animal-themed activities. A mean magician has turned the Serengeti's elephants into stone and it's up to children to rescue them. All activities are played solely with the mouse whether it's clicking on bushes to find lions or assembling puzzle pieces to create vehicles from Diego's rescue pack. Two difficulty levels are available and youngsters can freely revisit their favorite games by clicking icons on a safari map. As an added bonus the game lets children print out six animal pictures to color.
Up first in this themeless collection is "Diego and Porcupine Save the Pinata!," a third-season episode. Go Diego Go season dvd and his sister Alicia introduce their pal Porcupine, who's celebrating his birthday with a special pinata. Unfortunately for him/her, the Bobo Brothers, a pair of mischievous, moronic monkeys, tied balloons to the pinata and sent it sailing. So it's up to Diego to help Porcupine get it back, along the way getting kids to shake their thangs like a porcupine, test their shape recognition and learn the Spanish word for swing. Aside from some odd things you'll notice (How come Diego needs gloves to hold the porcupine, but hugs it to his chest just fine? A birthday cake in a pinata?) it's a decently varied episode with those out-there touches kids enjoy, like a jet pack for Diego and a talking rain cloud.
The first of two egg-based episodes on this disc, "A New Flamingo Mami" shows how careless new parents can be. Instead of hanging around to see her new baby hatch, she wandered off into a cave and is now trapped by a fox. On top of that, the egg is poorly positioned by a flooding lake and an erupting volcano. Seriously, this kid has no chance in life. Of course, Diego arrives to save the day, accompanied by the usual physical activities and the Spanish for "go away." Above anything else, you'll never forget when Diego sings a lullaby to a volcano. Is this show secretly made for stoners?

Brother Bear

Long ago as the Earth was emerging from the Ice Age there were three brothers. After a bear takes the life of the oldest brother impulsive youngest brother Kenai kills the bear in revenge only to be transformed into a bear himself. Denahi the middle brother comes upon this bear and thinking it killed Kenai vows revenge. Now brother hunts brother and Kenai's only hope for survival is to befriend his own worst enemy a grizzly cub named Koda. Koda main goal is to show Kenai the real meaning of brotherhood.
OK, here's a question for debate: Is it a good thing or a bad thing that Disney has discovered a gold-mine with its direct-to-DVD animated sequels. On the positive side, these movies are a great way for fans to re-visit their favorite characters and see them in new animated adventures. On the negative side, the movies rarely show any true inspiration and are thoroughly mediocre. Case in point, Brother Bear 2.
Brother Bear 2 picks up some time after the conclusion of Brother Bear. (I don't remember the first film very well, so I honestly can't say how much time has past.) Kenai (voiced by Patrick Dempsey), the warrior who was transformed into a bear, and his young cub friend, Koda (Jeremy Suarez), have just awakened from hibernation and are hungry. They decide to hunt for berries. (Trust me, there's more to the story.)
And while Brother Bear season dvd boxset is in no way original, it does have its high points. The voice-acting is good, except for Wanda Sykes, whose performance is really out of place here. For the most part, the animation is quite good. While it doesn't rival the art of Disney's theatrical releases, the background look great and there is a great deal of detail in the bear's facial expressions. The songs by Melissa Etheridge are appropriate, but there is just one too many.

Bob's Burgers

The show centers on the Belcher family who run a hamburger restaurant. Creator Loren Bouchard said Bob's Burgers came about because Fox's animation brand centers mostly on family but he also wanted to dabble in workplace comedy. The show is said to fill the void created by the cancellation of King of the Hill which Bob's Burgers executive producer Jim Dauterive worked on for nearly its entire run.
Anyone who has known the particular joys and aggravations of working in a family business will likely get a few chuckles out of Bob’s Burgers season dvd boxset ,’’ Fox’s latest attempt to add a keeper to it’s animated Sunday night lineup.
Premiering tomorrow at 8:30 p.m., “Bob’s Burgers’’ is — like its long-running lead-in “The Simpsons’’ — a family comedy. From the mordant mind of Bay State native Loren Bouchard (“Home Movies,’’ “Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist’’) the show documents the perpetually failing title burger joint run by Bob Belcher (voiced by “Archer’’ star H. Jon Benjamin) with the help, but more often hindrance, of his wife and three kids.
Bob’s Burgers dvd’’ has a more sharply offbeat sensibility than its more pop-culture rooted Sunday night neighbors, veering between absurd, endearing, and crude — which fits with the avant stand-up stylings of folks like Schaal and Mirman. Some folks may feel the edges are a bit too sharp, including jokes about autism, child molesters, and, of course, the aforementioned potential cannibalism. The general gross-out factor — often a staple of adult-aimed animation — looks like it will be moderate. (Some may balk at the itchy crotch, but it was a gooey salival kissing bit that did me in.)
And even though the potential for irritation feels high — everyone but Gene is a smidge too sad-sacky and whiny — there’s something about “Bob’s’’ that feels fresh, sweet even. As the dysfunctional family that works together tries to make it work, it all starts to seem worth at least a few trips to the counter.

Bob The Builder

Bob The Builder season dvd boxset follows the adventures of Bob and his lovable gang of friends and machines - Scoop (a scooper) Muck (a dump truck) Lofty (a crane) Dizzy (a cement mixer) and Roley (a steam roller) - as they work together to solve problems. Along with Bob's business partner Wendy his cat Pilchard and wacky scarecrow Spud Bob and his crew live in a unique and imaginative world.
You may have heard through the grape vine, or seen through the veil, that Bob the Builder dvd has gone digital. We've known for a few months but resisted like good little Luddites. Can't stand to see our beloved stop-motion animation supplanted by bits and bytes. Or should I say, I couldn't stand it, the kid finds no substantive difference.
This shortish release comes with five episodes and an extra or two, totaling around 45 minutes of family entertainment. As usual, Bob and Wendy guide their toddler charges - their heavy equipment, the Can Do Crew - with kindness, compassion, and every so often just the smallest amount of firm instruction. The tools struggle with feelings of inadequacy, outsider-ism, over-exuberance, and all the other things that lead to feelings of confusion. To wit; the kids are confused when seemingly everything they do is met with shouts of exasperation from their parents.
So, this old man is not pleased by the subtle modernization and dumbification of Bob the Builder - it doesn't look right, feel right, or read right. But it's close enough for the kids. My tester noticed the voices, but enjoyed everything else just the same. I guess it's time for the old guard to step aside. Long live the new Bob!

Solty Rei Complete Series

It's been twelve years since the Blast Fall an unexplained disaster that left countless dead and many more maimed. Society is divided and every citizen feels the burn most of all the Resembles - people whose mangled bodies have been rebuilt with high-tech prosthetic devices.
Bounty hunter Roy Revant has seen it all walking alone in this shattered city. That is until the day a strange little girl named Solty falls from the sky straight into his heart. The search for family turns into a search for meaning and those that wield harsh power over society won't go unnamed for long. Roy and Solty may seek different things... But who wants to search for truth alone?
Solty Rei dvd is set in a futuristic city a dozen years after a strange, catastrophic incident called the Blast Fall maimed many of the city's inhabitants. Unsurprisingly, this triggered a technological boom in Resemble technology: advanced robotic prosthetics that replace missing or badly damaged body parts. These prosthetics are produced by the Reestablishment Universe Committee (R.U.C.), and their success seems to have produced an entity that combines the worst traits of a fascist police state government and a greedy mega-corporation. The Blast Fall stripped bounty hunter Roy Revant of his only child, Rita, and with her went most of his compassion and emotion. Even though he does his job with a cold, hard-hearted efficiency, he's never given up hope that his daughter is still alive somewhere. When a naked, green-haired teenaged girl with no name and no memory of who she is or where she came from appears, it's only a matter of time before Roy ends up naming her Solty and adopting her so they both can learn the meaning of love and family. The fact that Solty seems to be invulnerable and inhumanly strong only deepens the mystery around her, as does the odd interest that the R.U.C. seems to be taking in her.
About the only good thing to say about Solty Rei season dvd boxset is that it's a valiant attempt to do something different; it's too bad it founders on its own poor execution. The sense of closure in the final episode is a nice change of pace from the open-ended sequel bait, but it's also a relief to know that a sequel to this series is highly unlikely. You never get a second chance to make a first impression, and the earliest impression Solty Rei gives is contradictory and confusing.

South Park

South Park dvd is an animated series featuring four boys who live in the Colorado town of South Park which is beset by frequent odd occurrences. The show grew out of short film that Trey Parker and Matt Stone created called The Spirit of Christmas and has become an award-winning show that is a unique blend of humor and satire.
In South Park season dvd boxset Colorado we follow the adventures of four foul-mouthed fourth-graders: Eric Cartman the rude obnoxious sadistic racist fat kid; Stan Marsh a quiet kid with a huge crush on Wendy Testaberger (he usually vomits whenever he talks to her or when something gross occurs); Kyle Brofloski the religious Jewish kid who Cartman picks on for being Jewish; and Kenny the orange parka-hooded kid who dies every episode. Of course most of the time something weird usually happens including aliens planting a chip in Cartman's anus and Michael Jackson moves into the neighborhood. Other wild adventures include: the boys blaming their parents for child molestation and Cartman feeding Scott Tenorman his parents in chili. A movie was given in the early seasons in 1999. And the boys enjoy their Terrence & Philip a Canadian comedy duo (which the parents were against in the movie)
NEW YORK (AP) — Golf clubs in hands or not, the kids of "South Park" are ready to take on Tiger Woods.
No subject is sacred for creators of the Comedy Central cartoon. So for the opening of its 14th season on Wednesday, the troubled golfer encounters Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman in their animated Colorado town.
Matt Stone, who makes the series with partner Trey Parker, says it's such a juicy topic they could have made a Tiger-centric season.
He says sex addiction, the intersection of powerful men and willing women, strange stories and bad public relations all give them fodder. Stone wasn't revealing many details, in part because the two were still writing.
The show is airing its 200th episode next month.

Cast members and characters reprised from the original series include John Hannah as Batiatus Lucy Lawless as Lucretia Peter Mensah as Oenomaus Nick Tarabay as Ashur Lesley-Ann Brandt as Naevia Antonio Te Maioha as Barca and Manu Bennett as Crixus. We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend and colleague, Andy Whitfield. We were fortunate to have worked with Andy in ‘Spartacus’ and came to know that the man who played a champion on-screen was also a champion in his own life. Andy was an inspiration to all of us as he faced this very personal battle with courage, strength and grace. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. He will live on in the hearts of his family, friends and fans.

Sons of Anarchy

Sons of Anarchy dvd centers on protagonist Jackson "Jax" Teller (Charlie Hunnam) the Vice President of the club who begins questioning the club and himself. Sons of Anarchy premiered on September 3 2008 on cable network FX. Its second season debuted on September 8 2009 and its third season began on September 7 2010.
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - It's too easy to compare the harrowing new FX original drama "Sons of Anarchy  season dvd boxset" to "The Sopranos," with leather jackets and Harley-Davidsons replacing the tailored suits and pasta.
No, the relentlessly grim and wrenching "Anarchy" is what you get when the thuggery quotient travels off the scale and it becomes nearly impossible to stomach spending time in the same room with the savage characters populating it.
Co-directed with high-voltage intensity by Allen Coulter and Michael Dinner, the opening hour struggles to draw a dichotomy between the hard-core violence and a newborn fighting for its life. Jax is the baby's father. The mother, a crank-addicted junkie, is played by none other than Drea de Matteo, who portrayed Adriana on "Sopranos." The second episode, directed by "Hill Street Blues" alumnus Charles Haid, is somewhat more effective in attaching a rhyme and reason to the ceaseless violence -- or at least a reason, anyway. And the reason is: they're paranoid, immoral bastards. Call it "Uneasy Riders."
Maggie Siff, who was so good on Season 1 of AMC's "Mad Men," is equally effective here as a pediatrician charged with saving the aforementioned damaged infant's life. Unfortunately, in "Anarchy," the baby is the only human whose existence is worth more than a cup of coffee at Denny's. And that -- no matter the show's undeniable qualitative merits -- makes it challenging to embrace.

Smallville

Smallville  DVD The numerous miraculous rescues by the local wonder boy Clark have aroused suspicions amongst colonials of Smallville. Interestingly the boy has managed to downplay his acts of various heroic egresses in the past. They say he's either too fast or has a penchant for finding trouble. He was found by Martha and Jonathan Kent on the day of the Meteor Shower and subsequently adopted. Clark's friend Lex Luthor the only heir of Luthorcorp has been secretly investigating grounds for Clark's outlandish valor. However on the face of it Clark just seems a normal boy who's slightly more secretive than usual.More in Smallville Season 10
It’s Superman versus Doomsday in Season 8 of Smallville, which has its DVD and Blu-ray release today.
Just like any season of Smallville, Season 8 has it’s share of hot and cold streaks. You’ll get some really amazing and consecutive episodes split up by some ugly ducks that are there as unsatisfying filler (you know, like Lois posing as a vigilante named Stiletto). But what really derailed things in the middle of the season was the inclusion on Lana Lang as Clark’s love interest in several episodes. Her presence was just another pointless trip around the old “will they/won’t they” block and, in fact, it flat out interrupted some steam the show had been building since the first on screen display of the monster version Doomsday.  Oh, and the fact that Ms. Lang now has her own superhero powers really makes those episodes extra painful.
But the eighth season regains its traction later on and it’s back to classic Smallville. Aside from some convenient rehashing of facts surrounding Clark and Doomsday’s arrival to Earth, the last several episodes represent one of the strongest season endings the show has seen since Season 5 when Zod possessed Lex and Clark was sent to the Phantom Zone.
The Smallville DVD boxset Release comes with some unaired scenes, commentary on 2 episodes and a behind-the-scenes featurette that focuses on Allison Mack (Chloe Sullivan) and her experience directing an episode on the show.

Sliders

Sliders DVD  Quinn Mallory while working on an anti-gravity machine accidentally creates a portal to a parallel universe. Eventually his friends and an unwilling participant accidentally get stuck traveling among parallel worlds trying to survive and learning that sliding can lead to fatal results. Meanwhile among many changes in their group they try to rescue the multiverse from the Kromagg Dynasty. Sliders DVD is an American science fiction television series. It was broadcast for five seasons beginning in 1995 and ending in 2000. The series follows a group of travelers as they use a wormhole to "slide" between different parallel universes.
Wild Things starter Aaron Ledbetter (1-0) picked up the opening day win against the Sliders, striking out five on five hits in six scoreless innings of work. With the win, Ledbetter tied a Frontier League record with 29 career wins.
Through four innings the score was knotted at zero because of solid pitching from both teams. The Wild Things opened the scoring in the bottom of the fifth when second baseman Kyle Werman came through with the bases juiced by driving in two runs with a single to right field.
The Sliders threatened Ledbetter in the sixth with a rally of their own by loading the bases on three straight singles to start the inning. Ledbetter was resilient, however, by striking out the next two batters and getting first baseman Jason Von Behren to ground out to end the inning with three Sliders dvd boxset players left on base.
The Sliders inched closer in the eighth with a RBI triple by Nate Yoho to score Jarrod Klausman, who was traded by the Wild Things to the Sliders over the weekend, to make it a one run ballgame.
Jarod Rine added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth with a sharp RBI single past shortstop Jon Hickey to plate Chris Sidick for a 3-1 advantage. Outfielder Matt Sutton than scored from third on a throwing error by Sliders catcher Travis Chapman on Rine's second stolen base of the game to round out the scoring for the Wild Things.
The Wild Things will host the Sliders Thursday for the second and final game of their opening two-game series at CONSOL Energy Park at 7:05 p.m.
Steelers placekicker Jeff Reed will also be on hand Thursday night with the Coca-Cola Great Hall. The Coca-Cola Great Hall also features a prize wheel which will give the fans an opportunity to win Steelers-related merchandise.

Rome Season

Rome Season DVD  The year is 44 B.C. Julius Caesar has been assassinated and civil war threatens to destroy the Republic. Meanwhile Titus Pullo attempts to pull his friend Lucius Vorenus out of the darkness that has engulfed his soul in the wake of personal tragedy. For once again the fates of these two mismatched soldiers seem inexorably tied to the fate of Rome itself...Rome is a British–Italian historical drama television series created by Bruno Heller John Milius and William J. MacDonald. The show's two seasons premiered in 2005 and 2007 and were later released on Rome DVD .
The series was begun after William J. MacDonald and John Milius pitched the idea to HBO as a mini series. HBO then added a writer, after reading three one-hour scripts. The network made it a full-fledged series. In 2002, HBO and the BBC agreed to co-produce a new series based on the events of the "Roman Revolution". Towards that end, the two networks committed a US$100–110 million (£62.7 million) budget to the production of twelve 1-hour episodes, with HBO contributing $85 million, and the BBC contributing $15 million. The BBC contributed £800,000 to every episode of Rome in its first season. The last major collaborative effort before Rome was the Emmy awarded series Band of Brothers. Rome was and still is the biggest co-produced series with the American film market in the BBC's history. The series also marked the first series on which HBO and the BBC worked together as co-producers, although the two companies had worked together in other roles in earlier series, the last being Band of Brothers and The Gathering Storm.

Rocky Complete

A small time boxer gets a once in a lifetime chance to fight the heavyweight champ in a bout in which he strives to go the distance for his self-respect. Rocky DVD is a 1976 American sports drama film directed by John G. Avildsen and written by and starring Sylvester Stallone. It tells the rags to riches American Dream story of Rocky Balboa an uneducated but kind-hearted debt collector for a loan shark in the city of Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Rocky starts out as a club fighter who then gets a shot at the world heavyweight championship. The film also stars Talia Shire as Adrian Burt Young as Adrian's brother Paulie Burgess Meredith as Rocky's trainer Mickey Goldmill and Carl Weathers as the champion Apollo Creed. Now Rocky Complete  DVD Boxset is coming!
Not even Claes Oldenburg's "Clothespin" across from City Hall generated the passionate debate provoked by this 8' 6" bronze "Rocky" statue — arms raised in victory — commissioned by Sylvester Stallone for his 1982 "Rocky III," a film series that seemed never to end. The bronze boxer stood at the top of the Art Museum's 72-step entrance, and when the filming was completed, the actor left the statue in place as a gift to the city. City Commerce Director Dick Doran was thrilled with the gift saying Stallone had done more for the city's image "than anyone since Ben Franklin."
Cultural and museum officials were horrified, terming the statue an ugly "movie prop." The public flooded the newspapers and city Art Commission with tons of mail, pro and con. The debate raged for months. Polls showed Philadephians equally divided. "Put it near the Liberty Bell," wrote a Daily News reader. "Dump it in the Schuylkill," wrote another. Countless tourists and residents climbed the steps to see and be photographed next to Rocky dvd . People who had never been inside the museum at least got close to the entrance. In the end, the Art Commission decided the Spectrum sports arena sidewalk was the logical address for the fictional heavyweight contender, where it stood until late summer 2006.

And if she travels with him she'll find herself witnessing the heat-death of the Earth five billion years in the future meeting Charles Dickens in the past and encountering lifeforms and invaders stranger than she'd ever thought possible. Only one thing is certain - it'll be the ride of a lifetime..More in Doctor Who Season 1-4 DVD Boxset
For a start, the larger mythology that Moffat has put in place - mostly regarding the nature of River Song's relationship to  Amy Pond (River is Amy's daughter) and the ongoing mystery surrounding the death of Doctor Who - has been pretty interesting, even though they saved the most confusing episode for last. It was no wonder the "previously on Doctor Who" segment was so damn long.
Though the finale did show how clever the writing has been, giving us a different perspective on the events of the season opener (The Impossible Astronaut) and using elements from throughout the latest batch of episodes (the Teselecta from Let's Kill Hitler, the headless monks' heads from  A Good Man Goes to War, to name two). Sure, having the Doctor use the Teselecta as a proxy does seem a rather predictable move in hindsight, but it's a credit to the writers that it still seemed a surprise when it was finally revealed to the audience.

While her episode of PoI is currently unscheduled, we know thanks to TVLine will be playing Wendy, “a charming/funny/sexy/sassy hairstylist from Brooklyn who learns that one should always look a gift horse in the mouth.” If you’re familiar with the idiom “don’t look a gift horse in the mouth” then you’ll know it means to never be ungrateful for a gift. Wendy seems to be learning the opposite lesson. Perhaps that implies she will receive a less than helpful present. Right now I’m picturing a bomb in a box, or something equally as dangerous. It’s not for certain that she will be the one on Finch’s list, but it seems likely someone could be out to get her. Let’s just cross our fingers and hope they manage to make Wendy at least a tad interesting, unlike some of the guest stars the show has had so far.
Regan has a couple upcoming gigs for TNT. The first one is the TNT telepic, Hide, starring Carla Gugino. It is based on the book written by Lisa Gardner. The other is a recurring role on TNT’s Peception, starring Eric McCormack and Rachel Leigh Cook.

America's Funniest Home

America's Funniest Home Videos dvd debuted in 1990 and includes footage captured (or staged) by home video cameras. The first host was Bob Saget who provided commentary on topics such as wedding and sports bloopers children and pets getting in trouble and furniture or other objects collapsing. The top three videos of the week are eligible for a cash prize and the winner is selected by the studio audience.

The kid on the screen can’t be more than 2. He’s standing on a patch of lawn, examining a few dark mounds that some animal has dropped on the grass. As he leans in for a closer look, he begins to lose his balance. The image freezes, and Tom Bergeron, the puckish host of America’s Funniest Home Videos, puts his finger on the TV monitor. “I see a forehead-to-shit ratio right there,” Bergeron says, tracing the kid’s likely downward trajectory.

It’s a late fall afternoon and we’re on the show’s cold and spangled Los Angeles set, a glowing cavern filled with lava-colored video walls and spectral white stars. Bergeron, dressed in a black suit, is rehearsing a bit called “Hit, Miss, or Disgusting?” in which two audience members will be asked to predict the clip’s outcome: Will the kid fall headfirst into the minefield? Or will he swerve away at the last second?

Since this is America’s Funniest Home Videos—a show that for more than 20 years has served as a highlight reel of our lowest moments—the answer is pretty obvious. You don’t get on national TV by dodging poop, and sure enough, when the video resumes, the kid goes down, right on target. “That’s the first face-plant into feces we’ve ever had,” Bergeron says with mock pride. He takes a sip of coffee before moving on to the next clip, in which a little girl gets clocked by a tire swing.

13: Fear Is Real

13: Fear is Real dvd , the CW's midseason reality replacement from Evil Dead and Spider-Man director Sam Raimi's Ghost House Pictures and Jay Bienstock Productions, attempts to do for horror movies what Next Action Star did for action films. Mainly, rip them off and make something even worse than the movies they are ripping off.
This time, horror movies get the reality treatment as 13 people volunteer to go into the deep Louisiana woods to have the ever loving hell scared out of them for ... $66,666? I'd call these people cheap whores, but it would be insulting to actual cheap whores.
The game portion of the show is identical to every reality competition ever produced. The group endures two sets of challenges: a ritual that sets up two eliminations and an "execution" that sends one of the contestants to their "graves". Between these events, contestants can guess which one has the "death box" that can earn a third contestant a place in the execution if they fail to guess the correct contestant if they aren't "killed" first.
The show really likes to beat its audience over the head with the fact that it's a horror reality show. No one says they are hoping one particular person will be sent home or get voted off the show. They actually say they hope so-and-so is "killed" in every interview. It takes more suspension of disbelief to buy into this premise than it does to believe that Anna Nicole Smith married J. Howard Marshall for love.
It's a reality show. The audience knows that no one is really killed and any attempts to dissuade them makes the show even more corny and hokey. Don't try to dress it up to turn it into something it's not, like something good and entertaining.
The 13: Fear is Real dvd boxset show is also overseen by some omnipotent Saw-like maniac who tries to get the contestants to plot against each other and coax at least one person into the execution before the challenges start. The challenges themselves aren't anything we haven't seen before outside of an episode of Fear Factor or a YouTube prank video made by a fraternity with too much time on their hands. However, the maniac also has minions who dress in all black and jump out of the darkness to set up these elaborate tasks and rituals that always make the contestants wet their pants since there is non-stop screaming from beginning to end.
That's about the only people they manage to scare during each episode. In fact, by the end of the credits, my pants were as dry as this show.

Among the many rules in Dinotopia is the edict that, once an outsider arrived, he or she was never allowed to leave. As Karl and David prepare to take their places in their new surroundings, both boys develop a strong bond with young Marion, who is on the verge of becoming a "matriarch" of the Dinotopian society. Unfortunately, the incursion of vicious carnivores, not to mention an unanticipated human villain, threaten to destroy Dinotopia dvd boxset and everyone living on the island.

I'm probably going to end up contradicting myself a few times before I get to the end of this review. I say that only because of all the praise I gave to the first Die Hard in part 1 of the Die Hard Tetralogy review. No matter. Die Hard with a Vengeance is very close to being the best action movie from the 90's and is even arguably the best action movie ever made. "What about the Maxtrx?!?!?!" Yeah, have fun with your CGI and Acting Bot Model KR. Action movies probably peaked with Die Hard With a Vengeance.
You know your plot is done a little too well when you start getting calls from the FBI because it's a bit too realistic. Unlike the second Die Hard, this one goes back to the fundamentals that made the first Die Hard Tetralogy DVD such a good movie. I'll try to leave enough of the plot out so I won't ruin it for those of you who are too young to watch rated R movies, because this should be required viewing when you get old enough. Hell, even my mom likes this movie. Anyway, there's a guy named Simon (played by Jeremy Irons) who starts setting off a bomb in a New York City department store. That was only to get the attention of the NYPD, which he calls and starts a game of Simon Says, particularly with Lt. John McClane (who is actually a police officer on the police force (service if you've seen Hot Fuzz) within the city the movie takes place for the first time in the Tetralogy). McClane, however, is at a very low point in his life. His wife Holly left him, he's on suspension from the NYPD, and on this day, he's nursing a particularly bad hangover.
